This medication is used to relieve various types of pain including headaches, toothaches, pain after tooth extraction, sore throat, ear pain, joint pain, neuralgia, low back pain, muscle pain, shoulder stiffness, pain from bruises, fractures, sprains, menstrual pain, and trauma. It is also used as an antipyretic effective for chills and fever symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

Ages 15 years and older or adults: 1 to 2 tablets, 1 to 3 times a day. Take with food to avoid stomach upset. Dosing intervals should be more than 4 hours apart.

Child dose

Ages 8 to under 15 years: 1 tablet, 1 to 3 times a day. Take with food to avoid stomach upset. Dosing intervals should be more than 4 hours apart.

Precautions

This medication can increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in people who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day; therefore, it must be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist. People with heart or vascular issues, or risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, and smoking should carefully consider using this medication at high doses for an extended period, as high doses can increase the risk of cardiovascular problems such as myocardial infarction or stroke. This medication should not be taken by individuals who have had allergic reactions to it or who have previously experienced severe asthma; infants under three months of age also should not take this medication. Avoid combining this medication with other antipyretics, cold medications, or sedatives, especially in children suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, individuals with allergic predispositions, and those with liver or kidney diseases should consult a professional before use. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness, or swelling occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult a professional. Unless in special circumstances, it should not be administered to children under the age of two. Strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage and do not use for an extended period; supervision by a guardian is required when given to children. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication, and discontinue use immediately if symptoms of serious skin reactions or cardiovascular anomalies occur. After 20 weeks of pregnancy, use should be minimized to the lowest dosage and shortest duration possible due to potential effects on fetal kidney function; avoid use after 30 weeks of pregnancy. Store this medication out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. It is also essential not to transfer to another container to maintain the quality.
