Precautions

This medication should not be taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, as the rhubarb component may cause uterine contractions, increasing the risk of preterm labor or miscarriage. Breastfeeding women should also avoid this medication, as some components in rhubarb can transfer into breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. This medicine contains lactose, so individuals with lactose intolerance or specific genetic issues should avoid taking it. Do not take this medication with other antidiarrheal medications, as this combination can increase side effects. Patients with hypertension, heart, or kidney diseases must consult with a specialist before taking this medication. Patients experiencing edema, the elderly, or those on other medications should also consult their doctor or pharmacist. Individuals with diarrhea or loose stools, weak stomachs, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting need to be cautious as well. Consult a doctor before use if in a state of severe fatigue or heavy perspiration, or have a history of heart disease. Patients with urinary disorders or hyperthyroidism, or those who have previously experienced skin rashes or itching as a side effect should consult a specialist. Diabetics should take precautions as the ephedra component may raise blood sugar levels. If you experience swelling of the face or limbs, elevated blood pressure, or headaches while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a specialist. If symptoms such as muscle weakness, cramps, or fatigue occur, stop taking and consult a doctor. Digestive symptoms such as loss of appetite, abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea require caution. If you experience skin rashes, redness, or itching, discontinue use immediately. Symptoms of insomnia, excessive sweating, rapid heartbeat, overall fatigue, or mental agitation indicate autonomic nervous system disturbances, requiring immediate consultation. If urinary disorders or signs of liver dysfunction or jaundice appear, stop taking and seek medical advice. If constipation does not improve after one week of use, discontinue and consult a doctor. Long-term use is not recommended; for prolonged use, consult a specialist. This medication may lead to drug tolerance and worsen constipation if used for extended periods, so it should not be taken continuously for more than one week. Strictly adhere to the specified dosage and administration guidelines, as the effects of rhubarb may vary between individuals. When taking with other herbal medicines, ensure there are no overlapping ingredients, particularly with rhubarb. Combining with ephedra, ephedrine, MAO inhibitors, thyroid medications, catecholamines, or xanthine drugs may result in side effects such as insomnia, excessive sweating, or rapid heartbeat, necessitating dosage adjustments. Taking potassium-containing drugs, licorice components, or diuretics can lead to hypokalemia and muscle abnormalities; therefore, it should be taken with caution. Store this medication away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place, ensuring it is kept out of reach of children. Do not transfer to another container from the original packaging, and always secure the medication after use.
