How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once, twice daily. The dosage should be determined based on each patient's current treatment regimen, efficacy, and tolerance, staying within the maximum recommended daily doses of empagliflozin 25 mg and metformin 2000 mg for each component. Precautions

This medication is used to treat diabetes and helps in controlling blood sugar levels. It should not be administered to patients with impaired kidney function or those with severe infections or dehydration. It is safest for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid this medication. Hypoglycemia may occur during treatment; caution is needed when taking alongside insulin or other blood sugar-lowering agents. Additionally, this medication can rarely cause a serious metabolic disturbance called lactic acidosis, so if symptoms such as sudden muscle pain, difficulty breathing, or weakness occur, contact a doctor immediately. There is a risk of urinary tract infections or genital infections, so appropriate treatment should be received if infection symptoms appear. If surgery is planned or if undergoing procedures using radiographic contrast agents, this medication should be discontinued for a period of time, and it should be resumed only after verifying normal kidney function. Elderly patients or those with compromised kidney function should regularly monitor kidney function and adjust the dosage accordingly. It is advisable to avoid alcohol during treatment and to use this medication with caution in situations where there is a risk of fluid loss. This medication may lower Vitamin B12 levels; thus, routine blood tests to check vitamin levels are recommended during long-term use. Moreover, various side effects may occur; if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a healthcare professional immediately.
