This medication helps improve symptoms of gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by gastroesophageal reflux and hiatal hernia, as well as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting caused by gastritis and duodenitis. It is also used to relieve irritable bowel syndrome and spasmodic colon symptoms. In children, it is effective in treating habitual vomiting and constipation and diarrhea due to non-infectious intestinal passage disorders. This drug is widely used for relieving and treating various gastrointestinal-related conditions.

How to take

Adult dose

As trimebutine maleate, take 100-200mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so it should not be used in patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal-related side effects such as constipation, diarrhea, borborygmus (intestinal gas sounds), nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, thirst, and oral numbness may rarely occur. Cardiovascular side effects, such as symptoms of palpitations, may occur rarely. Neurological side effects such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may occasionally appear, so caution is advised. Elevated levels of liver function tests, GOT and GPT, have been rarely reported, so individuals with liver health issues should be particularly cautious. If any allergic reactions such as rashes occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a physician. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been sufficiently verified, so pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should take it only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Lactating women should also avoid this medication if possible, and if it must be taken, it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding.
