Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is broken down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, patients with the genetic condition Phenylketonuria should not take this medication. The maximum acceptable daily intake of aspartame is recommended by WHO at 40 mg per kg of body weight, so it should be used in the smallest amount possible. For example, an adult weighing 60 kg can take a maximum of 2.4 g per day. Infants under 3 months of age, individuals with allergies to this medication or its components, and those currently taking or who have recently discontinued MAO inhibitors, such as certain antidepressants or antipsychotics, should not take this medication. During the course of taking this medication, it is advisable not to take other cough medicines, cold medicines, antihistamines, or sedatives together. Individuals with allergic constitution or a history of allergic reactions to medications, those with liver, kidney, heart, thyroid diseases, diabetes, hypertension, the elderly, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing mothers, and persons with specific cough symptoms should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia appear during use, or if symptoms do not improve after 5 to 6 doses, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. This medication should not be given to children under 2 years old, and if necessary, medical advice should be sought.

Side effects

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a sealed container. The storage temperature should maintain room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees. This will help preserve the effectiveness of the medication safely.
