Precautions
This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia, which is an excess of calcium in the blood; patients with sarcoidosis, which is an unknown systemic inflammatory disease; or those with kidney disease. Additionally, those who have allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients should not take it. Babies under 12 months old, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure symptoms should also avoid taking this medication. It is essential not to take this medication simultaneously with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids, or levodopa. Patients receiving medical treatment, those with hyperoxaluria, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing mothers, premature infants, and patients with heart and circulatory problems or renal impairment, as well as those with hypoproteinemia, gout, or a history of kidney stones should consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, red spots, abnormal heartbeats, central nervous system dysfunction, gastrointestinal disturbances, upper abdominal pain, pulmonary edema, or hypotension occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Prolonged high-dose use may lead to tolerance, and taking pyridoxine in excess of 500mg daily for an extended period may result in nerve dysfunction. In patients with folate deficiency, administering more than a certain dose of vitamin B12 may cause adverse hematological reactions. High-dose use can lead to side effects like exacerbation of peptic ulcers, blood sugar control issues, hyperuricemia, and liver damage. Overdosing may result in symptoms like nausea, vomiting, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema, so caution is warranted. There is a risk of hyperkalemia when taken with some diuretics. If there is no improvement in symptoms after one month of taking this medicine, it is advisable to consult a specialist. It is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage and frequency, as this medication may affect blood glucose detection in urine tests and change urine color to yellow, impacting clinical test results. It is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after taking this medication. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight in a tightly closed container. Additionally, it is important not to transfer the medication to another container to maintain quality.
