This medication helps relieve temporary insomnia characterized by difficulty falling asleep or maintaining sleep. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of temporary insomnia.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 50mg (1 pouch) of diphenhydramine hydrochloride orally before bedtime. Depending on the individual, if excessive sedation occurs with 50mg, take 25mg (1/2 pouch).

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals with certain diseases or conditions. For example, people who show allergic reactions to this drug or patients who have difficulty breathing due to asthma, emphysema, or chronic bronchitis may be at risk if they take it. Additionally, individuals with glaucoma that increases eye pressure or lower urinary tract obstruction diseases such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, as well as those with gastrointestinal issues, should not take this medication. Children under 15 years old and patients with seizure disorders such as epilepsy, as well as those with pheochromocytoma, should also avoid using this drug. Women who are breastfeeding should avoid taking this medication due to potential effects on the baby, and it is safer for individuals who routinely experience insomnia or have been diagnosed with insomnia to refrain from using this drug.
