Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication can be administered as one tablet once daily without regard to meals for patients taking sitagliptin 100 mg and dapagliflozin 10 mg. The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin and is used for diabetes treatment. During treatment, severe allergic reactions may occur; if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck appear, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Serious inflammation of the pancreas known as acute pancreatitis can occur, so immediate medical attention is required if symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, or fever arise. Patients with a history of allergies to the ingredients or additives in this medication, those with type 1 diabetes, or patients undergoing dialysis should not take this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function or reduced fluid volume must check their kidney function and fluid status before administration and monitor blood pressure and kidney function periodically during treatment. This medication may increase the risk of genital and urinary infections; if symptoms of infection occur, immediate treatment is needed, especially for women and those with a history of infections. Symptoms of hypoglycemia may occur, so when taking this medication with other blood sugar-lowering agents like insulin or sulfonylureas, carefully monitor for hypoglycemic symptoms and adjust the dosage if necessary. Elderly patients may have reduced kidney function, so dosage adjustment and kidney function tests are recommended. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women should also avoid taking it. There is no specific antidote for overdose, so appropriate treatment should be received according to symptoms, and measures such as dialysis may be considered if necessary. This medication requires caution while driving or operating machinery, especially when combined with a risk of hypoglycemia.
