This medication is used to improve blood lipid levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Specifically, it helps lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels while increasing levels of good cholesterol, HDL cholesterol. It is also used in conjunction with a dietary regimen and plays an important role in maintaining vascular health and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. This medication regulates lipid balance in the body to improve healthy blood lipid status.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily irrespective of meals. A starting dose of 2/10 mg once daily is recommended. Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For instance, it should not be used in patients who are allergic to its ingredients or have severe liver disease, pregnant or nursing women, and children. Additionally, it should be used cautiously in patients with impaired liver function, excessive alcohol consumption, kidney issues, muscle diseases, or in the elderly. If symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness occur during treatment with this medication, notify your doctor immediately and regular liver function tests should be performed. Since this medication is metabolized in the liver, patients with poor liver function may have an increased risk of side effects. Furthermore, serious side effects such as muscle damage or deterioration of kidney function may occur when taken with certain other medications; therefore, it is crucial to consult with a doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant and nursing mothers should not take this medication, and if pregnancy occurs during treatment, it should be discontinued immediately. The safety of this medication in children has not been established, so it should not be used in pediatric patients. The elderly generally do not require dosage adjustment; however, caution is needed due to possible side effects from declining physical function. In cases of overdose, since there is no specific antidote, treatment should be symptomatic, and liver function and muscle-related tests should be performed. Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pale skin, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, shortness of breath, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, decreased urination.
