Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The recommended dose is 1 tablet daily for patients receiving 100 mg of sitagliptin and 10 mg of dapagliflozin, regardless of meals. Tablets should be swallowed whole.

Precautions

This medication contains the ingredients sitagliptin and dapagliflozin and is used for diabetes treatment. First, since allergic reactions may occur while taking this medication, if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck appear, you should discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Also, acute pancreatitis, a serious side effect involving inflammation of the pancreas, has been reported, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting occur, you should seek medical attention immediately. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with type 1 diabetes or those undergoing kidney dialysis. Patients with impaired kidney function or dehydration should check their kidney function and fluid status before taking this medicine and should be carefully monitored for symptoms of hypotension or dehydration during treatment. While this medication lowers blood sugar, there is a risk of hypoglycemia when taken with other blood sugar-lowering agents like insulin or sulfonylureas, so dosage adjustments may be necessary when using these medications together. Additionally, this medication may increase the risk of genital and urinary tract infections, so appropriate treatment should be sought if related symptoms occur. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication and should consult a healthcare professional immediately if pregnancy is planned or confirmed. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function should take this medication with regular kidney function tests, and any unusual symptoms should be reported immediately. In cases of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and treatment will be given according to symptoms, with dialysis treatment considered if necessary. Finally, while this medication does not significantly affect driving or operating machinery, caution should be exercised as hypoglycemia may occur. This medication should be taken strictly under a doctor's prescription, and any unusual symptoms should be reported immediately to a healthcare professional.
