Treatment of coronary artery disease (such as angina); adjunctive treatment of congestive heart failure
This medication is used for coronary heart disease, such as heart-related issues like angina or myocardial infarction. It is also used as an adjunct therapy alongside cardiac glycosides or diuretics in the treatment of congestive heart failure. This medication can help improve blood flow and heart function.
Take 60㎎ (1 tablet) orally once daily in the morning. For angina, the dose may be increased to 120㎎ (2 tablets) in the morning as needed. Use an initial dose of 30mg for 2~4 days and adjust the dose to minimize headache. This medication may be divided, but must not be chewed or crushed; swallow it whole with a beverage.
This medication should not be used in patients with acute circulatory failure or severe hypotension. Patients with severe myocardial infarction or allergies to nitrate preparations should also avoid use. It should not be used in patients with head trauma, cerebral hemorrhage, or significantly reduced blood volume. Patients taking this medication should be cautious when using certain erectile dysfunction medications together, as it may be dangerous. Patients with genetic problems like lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Caution is required for patients with angle-closure glaucoma, hypothyroidism, hypothermia, malnutrition, or severe liver and kidney diseases. Patients with orthostatic hypotension, cerebrovascular diseases, or increased intracranial pressure should also be careful. This medication can cause side effects like headaches, dizziness, and hypotension due to its blood vessel dilation effect. Liver function abnormalities and gastrointestinal symptoms, as well as skin rashes, may occur rarely, so it is important to monitor the condition. Avoid alcohol during treatment as it may exacerbate side effects. This medication is not suitable for acute relief of angina; if symptoms worsen, alternative treatments should be considered. Sudden discontinuation of this medication can worsen symptoms, so it should be taken as directed by a doctor. Care should be taken when used with other antihypertensives or alcohol, as it can intensify blood pressure lowering. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may face risks when using this medication, so it should be used only when necessary. The safety for children has not been confirmed, so special caution is required for use in pediatric patients. In case of overdose, symptoms like headaches, flushing, nausea, hypotension may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container for safety. Dizziness may occur during treatment, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. A storage temperature between 1 degree to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature is recommended.
