View approved original text

This medication is used as an adjunct therapy to reduce elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia. It is used alone to treat hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV) and in combination with statins to enhance efficacy in patients with mixed hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (Type IIb). Particularly, it is used in conjunction with statins in patients whose triglyceride levels are not controlled, helping to improve blood lipid levels. This contributes to reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, this drug is used to improve triglyceride levels and treat associated blood lipid abnormalities.
