This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. The dosage range is 10/2.5 mg to 10/20 mg per day. An initial dose of 10/2.5 mg or 10/5 mg once daily is recommended. This medication is used as an adjunct to diet to lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and to increase HDL cholesterol levels. This helps improve blood lipid levels and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. The dosage range is 10/2.5 mg to 10/20 mg per day. An initial dose of 10/2.5 mg or 10/5 mg once daily is recommended. For patients requiring a greater reduction in LDL cholesterol, the dosage may be adjusted accordingly. After starting treatment or after adjusting the dosage, blood lipid levels should be checked at intervals of more than 4 weeks, and the dosage adjusted accordingly.

Precautions

This medication has been reported to cause a rare side effect called rhabdomyolysis, which can result in severe muscle damage. If severe muscle pain or weakness occurs, consult a doctor immediately. Additionally, the use of this medication may need to be temporarily discontinued or stopped in patients with impaired kidney function, serious infections, or after major surgery. This medication should not be used in patients with compromised liver function or pre-existing muscle diseases.
