Therefore, this drug is used to support blood glucose management in patients with type 2 diabetes.
This drug 100/1000 mg extended-release tablet is taken once daily, 1 tablet per dose. Patients taking this drug 50/500 mg extended-release tablet or 50/1000 mg extended-release tablet are to take 1 dose of 2 tablets at the same time once daily. 1. For patients not currently treated with metformin: The initial dose of this drug is a total daily dose of sitagliptin 100 mg and metformin 1000 mg. For the initial dose,
This drug contains sitagliptin and metformin hydrochloride, and there are several considerations to keep in mind before use. First, this drug may cause allergic reactions, so if symptoms of hypersensitivity appear, it should be discontinued immediately and a doctor should be consulted. Also, symptoms of pancreatitis may occur, so careful observation should be maintained if abdominal pain or nausea is present. It is safe not to use this drug in patients with moderately or severely impaired kidney function, serious infections, dehydration, or heart failure. Use of iodinated contrast agents before and after examinations requires temporary discontinuation of this drug until kidney function is normalized. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this drug, and its safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 18 years of age. This drug may cause a serious metabolic side effect called lactic acidosis, so particular caution is required in patients with liver or kidney impairment, those who consume alcohol excessively, or those with severe infection. Due to irregular meals, intense exercise, or interactions with other drugs, hypoglycemia may occur, making frequent monitoring of blood glucose levels important. During treatment with this drug, regular monitoring of kidney function and blood tests for abnormalities is recommended, and periodic checks of vitamin B12 levels are also advisable. If surgery is to be performed, this drug should be discontinued 48 hours prior to the surgery and restarted once kidney function is normal again after surgery. Finally, during treatment with this drug, acute or chronic alcohol consumption should be avoided, and if symptoms such as skin rash, joint pain, severe abdominal pain, or difficulty breathing occur, a doctor should be notified immediately.
