Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication has been developed to help control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. Sitagliptin and metformin work together to complement the effects of dietary management and exercise therapy. This allows for more effective management of blood sugar levels. Good results can be expected when used in conjunction with consistent dosing and lifestyle improvements. This medication improves blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
The 100/1000 mg extended-release tablet should be taken once daily, with 1 tablet per dose. Patients taking the 50/500 mg extended-release tablet or the 50/1000 mg extended-release tablet should take 2 tablets at once once daily. 1. For patients currently not treated with metformin: The initial dose is a total daily amount of sitagliptin 100 mg and metformin 1000 mg. If sufficient blood sugar control is not achievable.
This medication contains sitagliptin and metformin, and is used in the treatment of diabetes. Firstly, serious allergic reactions may occur while taking this medication, so if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck appear, stop taking the medication immediately and seek medical attention. Secondly, this medication can cause acute pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas, so if sudden abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever occur, visit a hospital immediately. Thirdly, the metformin component can cause lactic acidosis, a rare but life-threatening condition, so if symptoms such as shortness of breath, muscle pain, severe fatigue, abdominal pain, vomiting, or confusion arise, inform medical personnel immediately. Fourthly, patients with poor renal function or suspected acute kidney damage should not take this medication and should undergo regular renal function testing. Fifthly, this medication is not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing, and its safety in children under 18 has not been established. Sixthly, this medication carries a risk of hypoglycemia, so blood sugar levels should be carefully monitored, especially when taken with other hypoglycemic agents, and appropriate action should be taken in the event of hypoglycemic symptoms. Seventhly, if experiencing acute conditions such as severe infections, dehydration, heart failure, myocardial infarction, or pre- and post-surgical states, this medication should be temporarily discontinued and resumed only once the condition is stabilized. Eighthly, caution is advised for those allergic to any of the dyes included in this medication, and any abnormal symptoms should be discussed with a doctor immediately during treatment. Finally, regular blood tests and renal function tests should be conducted during the course of taking this medication to ensure safety, and alcohol consumption should be avoided.
