Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This medication allows for the administration of 1 tablet per day to patients receiving Sitagliptin 100 mg and Dapagliflozin 10 mg, regardless of meals. The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Precautions

This medication contains two components: Sitagliptin and Dapagliflozin. First, Sitagliptin can rarely cause serious allergic reactions, so if you experience symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck, you should immediately stop taking the medication and consult a doctor. Additionally, Sitagliptin may cause inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), so you should monitor for symptoms such as abdominal pain or vomiting while taking it. This medication should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or those on kidney dialysis, and it should not be administered to anyone with a history of allergy to this medication or its components. Dapagliflozin may cause low blood pressure or worsen kidney function in patients with decreased fluid volume or impaired kidney function, so regular checks of blood pressure and kidney function should be done before and during treatment. Particularly, elderly patients or those taking diuretics must be more cautious. Furthermore, this medication may increase the risk of genital infections and urinary tract infections, so if you experience symptoms of infection (itching, pain, discharge, etc.), you should receive treatment immediately. While taking this medication, symptoms of hypoglycemia may occur, especially when taken together with other diabetes medications such as insulin or sulfonylureas. Symptoms of hypoglycemia include dizziness, trembling, and cold sweat, so appropriate measures should be taken if these symptoms appear. There have been reports of a rare infectious disease called perineal necrosis as a severe side effect, so if you experience pain, swelling, redness, or discomfort around the genital area, inform your doctor immediately. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised not to take this medication, especially since the drug can be transmitted through breast milk and may affect the baby. Finally, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children under the age of 18, so its use is not recommended. It is important to have regular check-ups with your doctor while taking this medication, and to consult immediately if any unusual symptoms arise.
