Improvements in blood sugar control for type 2 diabetes
This medication is used to assist patients with type 2 diabetes in controlling their blood sugar levels by using sitagliptin and dapagliflozin together. It helps to effectively improve blood sugar levels in conjunction with dietary therapy and exercise therapy. Thus, it is a suitable treatment method for those who have difficulty managing their blood sugar.
For patients receiving sitagliptin 100 mg and dapagliflozin 10 mg, one tablet may be administered once daily regardless of meals. The tablets should be swallowed whole.
This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin. First, sitagliptin can rarely cause severe allergic reactions; if symptoms such as skin rash or difficulty breathing occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Additionally, there is a risk of acute pancreatitis, so caution should be exercised if there is severe abdominal pain or vomiting. Next, dapagliflozin may lead to decreased body fluid, lowering blood pressure or worsening kidney function, so if symptoms of dehydration or dizziness occur, promptly inform healthcare professionals. This medication may also increase the risk of genital infections, so if itching or discomfort occurs, treatment should be sought. This medication is not suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes or patients undergoing dialysis, and dose adjustments may be needed for patients with impaired kidney function. Elderly patients should also monitor kidney function regularly and take this medication with caution. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication, as it may pass into breast milk and potentially affect the baby. Additionally, when used in conjunction with insulin or sulfonylurea medications, there may be an increased risk of hypoglycemia, so blood sugar levels should be checked frequently, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. In the case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately for appropriate treatment, as some of the medication may be removed through dialysis, but generally symptomatic treatment is recommended. Finally, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children, so it should not be used in individuals under 18 years of age. Care should be taken while driving or operating machinery during treatment, particularly when hypoglycemic symptoms are present, as the risk of accidents may increase. Considering all of the above, take this medication exactly as directed by your physician and consult a professional immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is important to maintain storage temperatures between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
