Improvement in blood sugar control for type 2 diabetes
This medication is particularly suitable for patients with type 2 diabetes who are taking both sitagliptin and dapagliflozin. It effectively assists with blood sugar control during dietary and exercise therapy. Thus, this medication helps manage blood glucose levels effectively, providing significant assistance in the treatment of diabetes. Patients who take this medication along with lifestyle management will likely see an improvement in blood sugar control.
This medication can be administered at a dosage of 1 tablet once daily to patients receiving 100 mg of sitagliptin and 10 mg of dapagliflozin, regardless of meals. The tablet should be swallowed whole.
This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin and is used for diabetes treatment. Firstly, serious allergic reactions may occur when taking this medication, so if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or throat appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. Additionally, this medication can cause pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas, so if symptoms like abdominal pain, vomiting, or loss of appetite occur, medical attention should be sought promptly. This medication is not used in patients with type 1 diabetes or those on dialysis. Patients with impaired renal function or reduced fluid volume should closely monitor their kidney function and fluid status before and during medication use, and dosage adjustments may be necessary if required. Patients who are allergic to yellow No. 5 should also use this medication with caution. During treatment, there may be an increase in genital infections and urinary tract infections; if infection symptoms occur, immediate treatment should be sought. Since there is a risk of hypoglycemia, blood sugar levels should be monitored frequently, and symptoms should be carefully observed when this medication is taken with insulin or sulfonylureas. Furthermore, this medication can cause fluid depletion and low blood pressure, so older adults or patients taking diuretics should monitor their blood pressure and fluid status closely. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to take this medication and to discontinue it immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years have not been established, so it should not be used in this population. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so treatment should be symptomatic, and monitoring may be needed at a hospital. This medication does not generally impair driving or operating machinery, but caution is required as symptoms of hypoglycemia may occur. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children and should be kept in its original container to maintain quality.
