Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin. First, serious allergic reactions may occur during the administration of this medication, so if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Also, there is a risk of pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, or nausea occur, notify medical personnel immediately. This medication should not be administered to certain patients, including those with allergies to the main ingredient or additives, type 1 diabetes patients, and patients undergoing dialysis. Patients with poor kidney function or reduced fluid volume should use this medication with caution. If there are symptoms of low blood pressure or dehydration, regular monitoring of blood pressure and kidney function is necessary, and medication dosing should be adjusted as needed. This medication may increase the risk of genital and urinary infections, so prompt treatment should be received if infection symptoms appear. Symptoms of hypoglycemia may occur, so when taken with other hypoglycemic agents such as insulin or sulfonylureas, blood glucose should be checked frequently, and symptoms should be monitored closely. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid use of this medication, and especially nursing mothers are advised against using it. Elderly patients may require dose adjustments and regular kidney function tests due to the potential for decreased kidney function. In the case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so treatment should be symptomatic, and blood dialysis should be considered if necessary. Lastly, there is a risk of hypoglycemia when driving or operating machinery while taking this medication, so caution should be exercised. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children, so it should not be used in individuals under 18 years of age. When stored, keep in a place out of the reach of children and in the original container to maintain quality.
