Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and dapagliflozin. Firstly, serious allergic reactions may occur during the use of this medication. If symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck occur, stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a doctor. Additionally, cases of acute pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas, have been reported, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting appear, inform medical personnel immediately. This medication is not recommended for patients with type 1 diabetes or those receiving renal dialysis. Patients with poor kidney function need dose adjustments, and particular caution is required for patients with reduced fluid volume or low blood pressure. Dapagliflozin may increase the risk of decreased fluid volume, low blood pressure, urinary tract infections, and genital infections. If these symptoms occur, consult medical personnel immediately. Also, serious metabolic abnormalities known as diabetic ketoacidosis may occur, so if symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or difficulty breathing arise, visit a hospital immediately. Taking this medication in combination with blood glucose-lowering agents such as insulin or sulfonylureas may increase the risk of hypoglycemia; hence, be alert for symptoms of hypoglycemia and adjust the dose of blood glucose-lowering agents if necessary. Elderly patients or those with impaired liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and regular kidney function monitoring is advised. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation, so always consult a doctor before taking it. Finally, while taking this medication, be cautious as there may be risks related to hypoglycemia when driving or operating machinery. This medication should be taken strictly according to the doctor's prescription and instructions, and any unusual symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately.
