Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used in conjunction with dietary and exercise therapy to help control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. Sitagliptin and Dapagliflozin work together to effectively improve blood sugar levels. Therefore, it is a suitable treatment for patients having difficulty controlling their blood sugar.
This medication may be administered to patients taking Sitagliptin 100 mg and Dapagliflozin 10 mg, one tablet once daily regardless of meals. The tablet must be swallowed whole.
This medication may cause allergic reactions, so if an allergic reaction is suspected, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Additionally, serious pancreatic diseases such as acute pancreatitis may occur, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, or fever appear after taking the medication, inform medical personnel promptly. This medication should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or those on dialysis. Patients with decreased fluid volume or renal function impairment should check their renal function and fluid status before taking this medication, and during use, closely monitor for symptoms of hypotension or changes in renal function. Dose adjustment is necessary for patients with impaired renal function, and this medication alone may have reduced efficacy in controlling blood sugar. During use, the risk of genital infections and urinary tract infections may increase, so if any abnormal symptoms develop in those areas, immediate treatment should be sought. There is a risk of hypoglycemia, so if taken with other hypoglycemic agents such as insulin or sulfonylureas, symptoms of hypoglycemia should be monitored closely, and dose adjustments may be necessary. This medication should be used with increased caution in elderly patients, those with liver impairment, or a history of hypotension, and side effects such as weight loss may also occur. It is recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women avoid using this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed, discontinue use immediately. The safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been established, so it should not be used in this population. In cases of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment should be based on symptoms, and blood dialysis may be considered if necessary. Finally, this medication does not significantly affect driving or operating machinery, but caution is needed as there is a risk of hypoglycemia. Keep the medication out of reach of children and store it in its original container to maintain quality.
