Treatment and maintenance of active duodenal ulcers and benign gastric ulcers, relief and maintenance therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive)
This medication is used for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers and gastric ulcers. It is also effective as maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence after the treatment of duodenal ulcers. It provides short-term relief of symptoms related to gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis and is utilized for maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of symptoms after treatment. It helps in the treatment and management of various gastrointestinal disorders.
This medication is taken at least 1 hour before meals on an empty stomach. It should be swallowed whole with at least half a cup of water. Do not take it with any beverages other than water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. 1. Short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers: 15/600 mg orally once daily for 4 weeks 2. Short-term treatment of active benign gastric ulcers: 30/600 mg orally once daily for 8 weeks 3.
This medication should not be used in patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to certain components. In particular, patients taking HIV medications or certain antiviral drugs, pregnant women, and patients with severe renal dysfunction should not be administered this drug. Caution is advised for patients with a history of drug allergies or impaired liver function, older adults, nursing mothers, patients with heart or lung issues, and those with constipation. Serious side effects such as anaphylaxis, blood disorders, liver dysfunction, and severe skin reactions may occur while taking this medication, so if any symptoms emerge, immediately discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. Common side effects such as headaches or diarrhea can also occur, and various allergic reactions or unusual symptoms from different parts of the body have been reported. Long-term use may result in vitamin B12 deficiency, so regular checks are necessary if taken for more than a year. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion and may affect the absorption of other medications, so consult with a doctor or pharmacist when taking this drug with other medications. Special caution is required when used concurrently with drugs that affect blood coagulation, immunosuppressants, or certain antiviral drugs. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid the use of this medication, and if necessary, should consult a specialist before use. The safety for children has not been established, so adult dosing should not be applied. Elderly patients may have reduced gastric acid secretion and deteriorated physical function, so starting with a lower dose and careful administration is advised. In case of overdose, the stomach may need to be emptied or treatment according to symptoms may be required, and since it is not removed by dialysis, immediate medical attention is necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and transferred to another container as it may adversely affect quality.
