Used as an additional treatment option for patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with monotherapy of Prasugrel Potassium.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water irrespective of meals. It is recommended to take it daily at the same time (e.g., in the morning). Patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Prasugrel 30 mg as monotherapy should be dosed with 30/2.5 mg. Patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Prasugrel 60 mg as monotherapy should be dosed with 60/2.5 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years have not been established.

Precautions

This medication poses a significant risk of serious harm or death to the fetus or newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so usage should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients allergic to this drug's active ingredient or similar components, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients undergoing kidney dialysis, those with severe liver dysfunction, patients with bile duct obstruction, patients with specific genetic lactose intolerance, patients with severe aortic stenosis, and those in a state of shock should not take this medication. Particular caution is required for patients with low blood volume or sodium deficiency, impaired kidney function, renal artery hypertension, aortic or mitral stenosis, obstruction, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, primary aldosteronism, severe hypotension, older adults, and those allergic to certain dyes contained in this drug. While taking this medication, symptoms such as dizziness, headache, facial swelling, urination problems, insomnia, flushing, etc., may occur, and in rare cases serious kidney issues or blood pressure drops can arise. Blood pressure may drop too low, or electrolyte imbalances may occur; therefore, individuals taking significant diuretics or consuming low sodium should manage their condition carefully before taking the medication and regularly monitor blood pressure and electrolyte levels during use. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives or potassium-sparing diuretics, certain anti-inflammatory drugs, lithium, ketoconazole, etc., so patients taking other medications should consult their doctor or pharmacist. During pregnancy, risks to the fetus may necessitate avoidance if possible, and while breastfeeding, transmission of the drug through breast milk is possible; hence, its use is not recommended. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years are not established, and caution is required for elderly patients aged over 70 as they may be more sensitive to the drug. Patients with severe liver impairment should not take this medication. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias can occur; hence, it is crucial to seek medical treatment immediately, and in some cases, gastric lavage or activated charcoal administration may help. Keep this medication out of reach of children and avoid transferring to another container to prevent quality deterioration or accidents.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), sudden and very severe headache, seizures, consciousness confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly decreased urine output, severe systemic swelling and blood pressure rise, severe allergic reactions, severe skin reactions, respiratory problems, liver issues (jaundice), severe neurological symptoms, and significant edema or urination issues
