Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
This medication is used to effectively manage blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with pimasartan potassium monotherapy.
The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Administer 30/2.5 mg to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with pimasartan 30 mg monotherapy. Administer 60/2.5 mg to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with pimasartan 60 mg monotherapy.
Safety and efficacy for pediatric patients and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established.
This medication can lead to serious harm or death to the fetus and neonate if taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be administered to certain patients who are allergic to it, or those with specific liver dysfunction, patients on renal dialysis, or patients with biliary obstruction. Particular caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with diminished blood volume or poor kidney function, as well as in elderly patients, and their condition should be closely monitored. Taking this medication may result in side effects such as dizziness, headache, edema, urination disorders, insomnia, and facial flushing; if these symptoms are severe, medical consultation should be sought. Hypotensive symptoms may appear when starting treatment or increasing the dosage, and blood pressure and symptoms should be closely monitored. This medication may increase potassium levels, so it is important for patients with heart or kidney diseases to have their blood potassium levels regularly tested. When taking this medication with other antihypertensive drugs, specific diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., there may be drug interactions, so this should be reported to the healthcare provider. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to avoid this medication, and if necessary, should consult their doctor. Safety has not been established for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, so it is generally advised not to use it. While taking this medication, special caution is required when driving or operating hazardous machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac issues might occur, therefore adherence to the prescribed dosage is crucial, and immediate medical attention should be sought if unusual symptoms occur. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers for safety.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), severe allergic reactions, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), hepatic impairment (jaundice), thunderclap headache, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, severe neurological symptoms, significant reduction in urine output, generalized severe edema with associated hypertension, severe edema or urination abnormalities, toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Dizziness, orthostatic dizziness, headache, facial edema, peripheral edema, urination disorders, insomnia, flushing, dyspepsia, vomiting, nausea, upper abdominal pain, weakness, foreign body sensation, increased liver enzyme levels, decreased platelet count, increased serum creatine phosphokinase levels, cough, muscle contractions, musculoskeletal stiffness, itching, localized urticaria, erectile dysfunction, dizziness, fainting, sedation, migraine, pruritus, rash, angioedema, erythema multiforme.

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a container that protects against light. Additionally, it is recommended to store the medication at room temperature, between 1°C and 30°C, to safely maintain its efficacy.
