This medicine is used for patients with essential hypertension where blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with Pimasartan potassium alone. It helps manage blood pressure appropriately to reduce cardiovascular risk.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medicine is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). For elderly patients (age 70 or older), dose adjustment is not necessary. In patients with mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 30–80 mL/min), dose adjustment is not necessary; however, in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min), treatment should start with Pimasartan 30 mg of this medicine.

Precautions

This medicine can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine or who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients receiving renal dialysis, patients with moderate to severe liver impairment, patients with biliary obstruction, and patients with certain kidney diseases or diabetic nephropathy should not take this medicine. Special caution is required when taking this medicine if you have reduced blood volume, sodium deficiency, impaired kidney function, renal artery stenosis, aortic stenosis or mitral stenosis, severe hypotension, are elderly, or have allergies to specific coloring agents. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, facial swelling, urination disturbances, insomnia, and flushing may occur when taking this medicine, and various adverse reactions such as kidney function deterioration, hypotension, liver function abnormalities, and skin rashes have been reported rarely. Care must be taken during the initial doses or when the dosage is increased as blood pressure may drop too low, especially if there is dehydration or electrolyte imbalance. This medicine can increase serum potassium levels, so patients at risk for hyperkalemia should have their blood tested regularly. Drug interactions can occur when taken with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., so consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. It should be avoided during pregnancy due to the risk to the fetus, and it is also not recommended during breastfeeding as the drug may be transmitted through breast milk. Safety in children and adolescents under 18 years of age has not been established, and it is advisable not to use it. In case of overdose, hypotension, heart problems, shock state may occur; you should visit a medical institution immediately, and appropriate emergency treatment is required. Keep out of the reach of children, and storing in the original container can help maintain quality.
