This medication is used for essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Pimasartan monotherapy. It effectively lowers blood pressure and helps reduce the risk of complications associated with hypertension. Therefore, it plays a role in improving treatment when blood pressure management is challenging.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) whenever possible.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. If pregnancy is confirmed, cease use immediately. This medication should not be used in some patients, including those with allergies to its components, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients undergoing kidney dialysis, severe liver impairment, or bile duct obstruction. Patients with low blood volume or sodium, impaired kidney function, certain heart valve diseases, and the elderly should use this medication cautiously and be monitored closely. Common side effects during use include dizziness, headache, facial or peripheral edema, urinary disorders, insomnia, flushing, etc. Consult a doctor if any unusual symptoms occur. Patients with low blood pressure or electrolyte imbalances should take particular care, and if blood pressure drops too low, appropriate treatment must be sought immediately. This medication may increase potassium levels, so patients with heart failure or kidney impairment should have their serum potassium levels regularly monitored. When taking this medication with other antihypertensives, certain diuretics, lithium, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, drug interactions may occur; therefore, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to take this medication and should make decisions in consultation with a specialist if necessary. Use in children under 18 is not recommended as safety and efficacy have not been established. Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), difficulty breathing, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), sudden and severe headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, paralysis, markedly reduced urine output, severe generalized swelling associated with elevated blood pressure, toxic epidermal necrolysis, severe allergic reactions, severe edema, or urinary abnormalities, serious neurological symptoms, liver abnormalities (jaundice), respiratory problems.
