Used for additional therapeutic effects in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of pimasartan potassium.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this drug is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). When blood pressure is not adequately controlled with pimasartan monotherapy, the following dosages may be administered: • 30/2.5 mg: for patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with pimasartan 30 mg monotherapy • 60/2.5 mg: for patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with pimasartan 60

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be used in patients with allergies to the components of this drug or related drugs, or with certain conditions, such as severe liver impairment, patients on dialysis, obstructive biliary disease, and specific genetic lactose intolerance. Patients with decreased blood volume, impaired renal function, renal vascular hypertension, cardiac valvular disease, severe hypotension, and elderly patients should be monitored closely when using this drug. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, facial swelling, urinary disturbances, insomnia, and flushing may occur; if unusual symptoms arise, healthcare providers should be consulted. Patients with hypotension or electrolyte imbalance should manage their condition before taking this drug and routinely check blood pressure and electrolyte status during treatment. This medication can interact with other antihypertensive agents, diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, certain antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory drugs, so any other medications being taken must be communicated. Pregnant or nursing women are advised to avoid this medication, and nursing mothers should consider stopping nursing or discontinuing the medication. The safety in pediatric patients younger than 18 years has not been established, so it is preferable not to use this drug in children. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, palpitations, and reflex tachycardia may occur, and immediate medical attention is necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container is not recommended as it may affect the quality of the medication.
