Pimasartan potassium is used for patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with monotherapy, effectively helping to manage blood pressure.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for adults is one tablet once a day, to be taken with water regardless of meal times. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g. morning). No initial dose adjustment is needed for elderly patients under 70 years. For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 30-80 mL/min), no dose adjustment is necessary, but for those with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min),

Precautions

This drug can cause severe harm to the fetus or newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this drug or similar medications, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is also advisable not to administer this drug to patients undergoing renal dialysis, those with severely impaired liver function, biliary obstruction, or specific kidney and diabetes patients. Patients with low blood volume or reduced sodium levels, impaired renal function, or renal artery hypertension should exercise special caution when taking this drug, and their condition should be closely monitored. Adverse effects such as dizziness, headache, edema, urination disorders, insomnia, and flush may occur while taking this drug, so consult a doctor if any unusual symptoms arise. As there is a risk of hypotension and electrolyte imbalance, especially if taking high doses of diuretics, blood pressure and blood status should be carefully monitored. This drug may interact with other medications, so it is important to inform your doctor, especially if taken with potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or certain antibiotics. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and if breastfeeding, it is advisable to either stop breastfeeding or discontinue the medication. Caution is necessary as dizziness or drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, etc. may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment. This drug should be kept out of reach of children and it is better to avoid transferring the medication to another container.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucous membranes, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attacks, respiratory distress with cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), generalized extreme fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination.
