Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
Used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with Pimasartan.
The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) whenever possible.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients allergic to any ingredients of this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients undergoing renal dialysis, patients with moderate to severe liver impairment, and those with bile duct obstruction should not take this medication. In addition, patients with diabetes or severely impaired renal function, certain genetically lactose-intolerant patients, those with severe aortic stenosis, and patients in shock are also prohibited from taking this medication. Particular caution is required when using this medication in patients with decreased blood volume or sodium deficiency, impaired renal function, renovascular hypertension, heart valve disease, older adults, etc. This medication may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, swelling, urination problems, insomnia, and facial flushing; consultation with a doctor is necessary if any abnormal symptoms occur. Patients with low blood pressure or electrolyte imbalance may experience symptoms of hypotension when starting this medication or increasing the dose, so caution is necessary, and regular monitoring of serum potassium levels is recommended. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, it is essential to inform your doctor, especially if you are taking potassium-sparing diuretics, other antihypertensive medications, lithium, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Use of this medication during pregnancy may pose risks to the fetus, so do not take it if you are planning a pregnancy or are pregnant; it is also not recommended for breastfeeding mothers. The safety of this medication has not been established for children and adolescents under 18, so its use is not recommended. For older adults, no special dose adjustment is necessary, but caution is advised as their body responses may be more sensitive. Patients with moderate to severe liver impairment should not take this medication. In cases of overdose, hypotension, arrhythmia, and in severe cases, shock may occur, so immediate medical attention is required. Store this medication out of the reach of children and do not transfer it to another container; it is essential to follow your doctor's instructions when using it.
