Pimasartan potassium is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once a day, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). In patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with 30 mg of Pimasartan monotherapy, 30/2.5 mg should be administered. For patients not adequately controlled with 60 mg of Pimasartan monotherapy, 60/2.5 mg should be administered.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy for pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Therefore, if pregnancy is confirmed, usage should be discontinued immediately. Individuals who are allergic to the main ingredients of this medication or similar substances, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients undergoing dialysis, patients with moderate to severe liver impairment, patients with bile duct obstruction, and those with specific kidney dysfunction or diabetes should not take this medication. This medication may increase blood potassium levels, so patients with heart failure or renal disease should undergo regular blood tests. Precaution is needed for certain kidney disease patients due to the risk of worsening renal function. There may be interactions when taken with other antihypertensives or specific medications, so it's essential to inform your healthcare provider about any ongoing medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication, and breastfeeding should be stopped if taking this medication.
