Patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with Pimasartan 30 mg should be administered 30/2.5 mg. Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This drug should not be administered to certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this drug's components or similar drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients undergoing renal dialysis, individuals with severe liver impairment or biliary obstruction, certain genetically lactose intolerant patients, severe aortic stenosis patients, and patients in shock are prohibited from using it. Patients with low blood volume or salt deficiency, impaired renal function, renal artery hypertension, aortic and mitral valve stenosis, primary hyperaldosteronism, severe hypotension, elderly patients, and individuals allergic to certain dyes in this drug should use it cautiously. When taking this drug, side effects such as dizziness, headache, facial swelling, urination disorders, insomnia, and flushing may occur. Rarely, serious kidney issues, blood pressure drop, and allergic reactions may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, consult medical staff immediately. This drug lowers blood pressure, so patients with hypotension or electrolyte imbalance must correct their condition before taking it and monitor blood pressure and electrolyte status regularly during treatment. Patients with heart failure or kidney issues are at risk of hyperkalemia, so potassium levels must be managed through blood tests. When used with other antihypertensive agents, the blood pressure-lowering effect may be enhanced, so interactions with other medications should be carefully managed. Additionally, there may be a risk of worsening renal function when combined with certain medications, necessitating regular testing. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this drug unless discussed with healthcare providers. The safety and efficacy of this drug have not been established in children under 18 years of age, so its use in pediatric patients is not recommended. For the elderly, no special dose adjustment is needed, but some patients may respond more sensitively to the medication, so caution is advised. It is advised not to use this drug in patients with severe liver impairment. In case of overdose, symptoms may include hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias, and severe vasodilation, so one should visit a medical facility immediately for appropriate treatment. This drug should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers. During treatment, drowsiness or dizziness may occur, so caution is required when driving or operating hazardous machinery.
