Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication is used to lower blood pressure and help manage hypertension, particularly in cases where pimasartan monotherapy does not sufficiently control blood pressure necessitating additional treatment. Appropriate treatment methods are adjusted based on the patient's condition to effectively improve hypertension.
The recommended dose for adults is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). If blood pressure is not adequately controlled after dosage adjustment with pimasartan, administration as follows may be considered: - 30/2.5 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with pimasartan 30 mg alone. - 60/2.5 mg:
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years of age have not been established.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, thus it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be administered to those with allergies to the active ingredients or related components, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, patients undergoing renal dialysis, patients with moderate to severe liver impairment, patients with biliary obstruction, patients with specific kidney diseases and diabetes, individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic conditions, severe aortic stenosis patients, and patients in a shock state. Patients with low blood volume or sodium levels, individuals with impaired renal function, patients with renal vascular hypertension, patients with aortic and mitral valve stenosis, those with primary aldosteronism, patients with severe hypotension, elderly individuals, and those allergic to specific dyes included in this medication must take special care when using it. Various side effects such as dizziness, headaches, facial swelling, urinary disorders, insomnia, and flushing may occur, and if any unusual symptoms appear, the medical staff should be consulted. Blood pressure may drop too low during use, especially if blood volume or sodium is low, so symptoms of hypotension must be monitored, and appropriate measures should be taken if necessary. There is a risk of elevated potassium levels in blood during this medication use, so patients with heart failure or kidney diseases require regular blood tests. Drug interactions may occur if used with other antihypertensive drugs or specific medications, so if any other medications are being taken, it is crucial to inform the healthcare provider. This drug may have serious effects on the fetus during pregnancy, so it should not be used if planning a pregnancy or if pregnant, and it is not recommended during breastfeeding. For children under 18 years of age, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established, and it is advisable not to use it. For elderly individuals, no special dosage adjustment is necessary, but they should be cautious as they may respond more sensitively to the medication. It is safer not to administer this medication to patients with moderate to severe liver function impairment. Overdose may lead to serious symptoms such as hypotension, palpitations, and reflex tachycardia, requiring immediate medical attention.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme fatigue, sudden and severe headaches, thunderclap headaches, seizures, confusion, vision abnormalities, paralysis, urination disorders.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication is sensitive to light and must be stored in an opaque container. Also, it is safe to keep it at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage can help maintain the effectiveness of the medication.
