Used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with pimasartan potassium.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day if possible. If blood pressure is not controlled with 30 mg of pimasartan monotherapy, take 30/2.5 mg. If blood pressure is not controlled with 60 mg of pimasartan monotherapy, take 60/2.5 mg. Take either 60 mg of pimasartan monotherapy or 60/2.5 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be taken by individuals allergic to the active ingredient or similar components. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients undergoing kidney dialysis, patients with severe liver impairment, and those with certain conditions such as biliary obstruction should not use this medication. Particular caution is needed when using this medication in patients with low blood volume or decreased sodium, impaired kidney function, renal artery hypertension, severe hypotension, the elderly, etc. Rarely, side effects may include dizziness, headaches, facial swelling, urinary disturbances, insomnia, and flushing. Blood pressure may drop too low; therefore, careful monitoring is necessary when starting or increasing the dosage. Periodic monitoring of serum potassium levels is advisable while taking this medication. Consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is required when taken with other antihypertensive agents, diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, some antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory medications due to potential interactions. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended; if necessary, consult a specialist. Safety has not been established for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac issues may occur, so the dosage must be strictly adhered to, and if unusual symptoms arise, immediate medical attention is necessary. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities with cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headaches, lightning-like headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination.
