Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
Pimasartan potassium is used primarily in patients with essential hypertension who do not adequately control blood pressure with monotherapy, assisting in blood pressure management. This medication dilates blood vessels and lowers blood pressure, effectively reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Therefore, pimasartan potassium contributes to improved hypertension treatment and maintaining health.
The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). 30/2.5 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on 30 mg of pimasartan monotherapy. 60/2.5 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on 60 mg of pimasartan monotherapy.
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years of age have not been established.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who are allergic to this medication's active ingredients or similar drugs, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients undergoing kidney dialysis, those with moderate to severe liver impairment, those with bile duct obstruction, diabetic patients with certain kidney diseases, and those with specific genetic lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients with low blood volume or sodium in their body, those with impaired kidney function, those with renovascular hypertension, patients with heart diseases such as aortic or mitral stenosis, patients with primary aldosteronism, severe hypotension, the elderly, and those who are allergic to certain dyes included in this medication should take this medication cautiously. This medication may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, facial swelling, urinary disturbances, insomnia, and flushing, and may rarely cause severe kidney problems or blood pressure drops, so any unusual symptoms should be discussed with medical staff immediately. Patients with hypotension or electrolyte imbalances need to carefully manage their condition before taking this medication and should regularly check blood pressure and potassium levels during treatment. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives, potassium-sparing diuretics, certain antibiotics, pain relievers, etc., so if you are taking any other medications, be sure to inform your healthcare provider and exercise caution. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication, especially from the early stages of pregnancy. Children under 18 should avoid taking this medication since its safety and effectiveness have not been established. In the case of overdose, severe hypotension or heart rhythm abnormalities may occur, so it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage, and if an overdose occurs, visit a hospital immediately. This medicine should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container, as this can lead to deterioration in quality or accidents.
Urticaria, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision changes, paralysis, significant reduction in urine output.

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a tightly sealed container that blocks light. Additionally, it is advisable to store the medication at room temperature, ideally between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. This helps maintain the medication's effectiveness and safety.
