This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy using Pimasartan Potassium. In other words, this drug helps to effectively lower blood pressure to manage hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meal timing. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). If blood pressure remains uncontrolled, it may be possible to adjust the dose with Pimasartan monotherapy before switching to this medication. In patients with renal impairment, treatment should start with Pimasartan 30 mg in the case of severe renal impairment. In patients with hepatic impairment, the drug should not be administered in cases of moderate or severe liver impairment.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. People with allergies to this medication or similar class medications, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, patients undergoing kidney dialysis, patients with severe liver impairment, patients with biliary obstruction, diabetic patients with certain kidney diseases, and patients with specific genetic metabolic disorders should not take this medication. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is essential to inform healthcare professionals of any current medications, especially when taken in combination with potassium supplements, diuretics, lithium, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. During pregnancy, it should be avoided as it may pose risks to the fetus, and during breastfeeding, it is recommended to either stop breastfeeding or discontinue medication as the drug may pass into breast milk. The safety and efficacy in children under 18 years old have not been established, so it is advisable to avoid use in this age group. Mild side effects

Dizziness, headache, orthostatic dizziness, insomnia, flushing, urinary disorders, facial swelling, peripheral edema, dyspepsia, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, weakness, foreign body sensation, elevated liver enzyme levels, reduced platelet count, increased serum creatine phosphokinase levels, cough, muscle spasms, musculoskeletal stiffness, itching, localized urticaria, erectile dysfunction, syncope, sedation, migraine, pruritus, rash, angioedema, erythema multiforme, palpitations, drowsiness.
