This medication is used to manage blood pressure more effectively in cases where blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of Pimasartan Potassium.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Administered to patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled with Pimasartan 30 mg or 60 mg monotherapy. No initial dose adjustment is needed for elderly patients (under 70 years). For patients with impaired renal function, no dose adjustment is needed for mild to moderate impairment; however, in cases of severe renal impairment, dosages should be monitored.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years have not been established.

Precautions

This medication can cause severe harm or death to the fetus or newborn if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to the main components or related ingredients of this medication, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients undergoing dialysis, patients with moderate to severe liver dysfunction, patients with biliary obstruction, and patients with certain kidney diseases or diabetes should not take this medication. Patients who are hypovolemic or hyponatremic, have impaired renal function, renal artery stenosis, aortic stenosis, severe hypotension, elderly patients, etc., should be administered this medication with special caution, closely monitoring their condition. This medication may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, facial edema, urination disorders, insomnia, and flushing; consult a doctor or pharmacist if any abnormal symptoms occur. While using this medication, there may be occurrences of hypotension or electrolyte imbalances, so blood pressure and electrolyte levels should be closely monitored, especially when taking diuretics or in cases of diarrhea or vomiting. This medication can elevate potassium levels, so patients with heart failure or chronic kidney disease should have their serum potassium levels checked regularly. There may be interactions when taken with other antihypertensives or specific medications, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any medications being taken. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take this medication, and breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding or consult a doctor when taking this medication. The safety and effectiveness in children and adolescents under 18 years have not been established, so use is not recommended. Elderly patients may have heightened sensitivity to this medication and should be cautious when taking it. Patients with moderate to severe liver dysfunction should not take this medication. Overdosage may result in serious symptoms such as hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias, or shock, requiring immediate medical attention.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reaction, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, severe skin adverse reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory problems accompanied by cough + fever, skin or eyes turning yellow (jaundice), extreme lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), sudden onset of symptoms.
