This medication is used to effectively manage blood pressure in patients with primary hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of telmisartan or esamlodipine (amlodipine).

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is suggested to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with severe kidney impairment, treatment should start at a lower dose and be gradually increased. For patients with liver impairment, the daily dose of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg. Elderly patients (75 years and older) should start at a lower dose and gradually increase.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, hence the use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be used by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. This medication should not be used by patients with allergies to the active ingredients or similar drugs, patients with severe liver impairment or obstructive biliary disease, severe aortic stenosis patients, patients in shock, or patients with diabetes or severe kidney impairment. Particular caution is needed when using this medication in patients with primary hyperaldosteronism, certain heart valve diseases, liver impairment, gastrointestinal diseases, renovascular hypertension, severe hypotension, patients requiring dialysis, and elderly patients. When taking this medication, there may be side effects such as headache, dizziness, edema, palpitations, nausea; thus, if symptoms are severe or persist, consultation with a doctor is advised. If symptoms of hypotension occur, immediately lie down and seek medical assistance if necessary. It is crucial to have regular tests as kidney function or blood potassium levels may fluctuate. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents or certain medications, so it is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other drugs. It is advisable not to use this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding; if pregnancy is confirmed, immediately discontinue use. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been sufficiently established in children, so it is not recommended for them. Older adults may respond more sensitively to this medication, requiring dosage adjustment and caution. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, dizziness, or heart problems may occur, so you should immediately visit a healthcare facility and receive appropriate treatment. Keep this medication out of the reach of children, and do not transfer it to another container.
