This medication effectively helps lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with either telmisartan or amlodipine. It is used in the management of essential hypertension to reduce cardiovascular risk and contribute to maintaining healthy blood pressure. Therefore, this drug is used for the treatment of essential hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Before administration, dose adjustments for individual components are recommended, but in cases where blood pressure is not controlled, dosing should be as follows: - 40/2.5 mg: 2.5 mg of Amlodipine or 40 mg of Telmisartan - 80/2.5 mg: Amlodipine 2.5 mg

Child dose

Safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, thus its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Elderly patients may react more sensitively to this medication, so dosage should be adjusted, and careful administration is needed. Interactions with other medications may occur; therefore, if currently taking any other medications, it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist. If pregnancy is confirmed, discontinue this medication immediately and switch to another safe treatment. Also, it is advisable not to use this drug during breastfeeding. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, or heart problems may occur, necessitating prompt medical attention. The safety and efficacy of this drug in children have not been adequately established, and it is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age.
