This medication is intended for the treatment of erectile dysfunction; thus, the fundamental cause should be confirmed through a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination before use. As sexual activity may place a strain on the heart, patients with cardiovascular diseases should use this medication cautiously after consulting a physician, and if symptoms related to the heart arise during sexual activity, they should discontinue use immediately and visit a hospital. This medication may rarely cause an erection that lasts more than 4 hours (priapism), and in such cases, immediate medical assistance should be sought. While taking this medication, do not use nitrate drugs or NO donors, and inform your physician of any medications you are currently taking before use. Patients who have recently experienced heart attacks, angina, strokes or uncontrolled hypertension or hypotension should not use this medication. It should also not be used by individuals with hereditary retinal diseases or allergies to this medication or its components. Combining it with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to lack of confirmed safety and effectiveness. Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function should be cautious when using this medication, as it may cause symptoms of hypotension when combined with some antihypertensives. Common side effects include headaches, dyspepsia, lower back pain, muscle pain, flushing and other minor symptoms, while rare but serious side effects include cardiac abnormalities, vision changes, and hearing loss. If sudden loss of vision or hearing occurs during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Taking this medication with alcohol can lead to low blood pressure or dizziness, thus excessive drinking should be avoided. In case of overdose, standard supportive measures should be taken; blood dialysis is not effective for the removal of the drug. This medication should not be used by children, women, pregnant, or nursing women, and should be stored out of reach of children. While it has a minor impact on driving or operating machinery, some individuals may experience dizziness, necessitating caution.
