This medication helps relieve symptoms related to digestive disorders caused by gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and inflammation or ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, including abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting. It is also used to alleviate abdominal discomfort due to irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is effective for treating symptoms of habitual vomiting and non-infectious bowel passage disorders, such as constipation or diarrhea. Overall, this medication is used to improve various gastrointestinal diseases and related symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As Trimebutine Maleate, take 100-200 mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose and should not be used in patients with genetic disorders that impair lactose digestion. While taking this medication, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal sounds or discomfort, nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders, dry mouth, or a feeling of numbness in the mouth may occasionally occur. Additionally, symptoms of increased heart rate may rarely occur, along with neurological symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches. Liver function test values may temporarily rise, so care should be taken regarding liver health. If an allergic reaction such as a skin rash occurs, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been fully established. Nursing mothers should also avoid using this medication if possible, and if it is absolutely necessary to take it, discontinuing breastfeeding is advised.
