Precautions

Care should be taken as administering more than 5,000 IU of vitamin A daily to women in the first three months of pregnancy or those capable of becoming pregnant may pose a risk of congenital malformations. Patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause), kidney disease, kidney stone sufferers, and severe renal impairment should not take this medication. Those with allergic reactions to the ingredients in this medication, infants under 12 months, and patients with genetic lactose intolerance should also avoid taking this medication. During treatment with this medication, it is advised not to take it with phosphates, calcium salts, certain antibiotics, antacids, or levodopa. Infants under 1 year, currently treated patients, children exposed to a lot of sunlight with normal diet, patients with hyperoxaluria, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and patients with cardiovascular or renal dysfunction should consult a healthcare professional before intake. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, skin itching, joint swelling, diarrhea, rash, hypotension, arrhythmia, or central nervous system issues occur during the course of treatment, immediate discontinuation and consultation with a physician is necessary. Particularly in women, menstrual irregularities or prolonged bleeding may occur, and the risk of thrombosis may increase when taking estrogen-containing oral contraceptives, which requires caution. Prolonged high-dose intake may lead to tolerance, and taking it with certain vitamins could result in neurological issues, hematological abnormalities, or liver damage. This medication must be taken exactly as prescribed, and supervision by a guardian is necessary when given to children. During intake, beverages containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, should be avoided, and caution is advised before and after tests as it may affect urine test results. Storage should be in a cool, dry place out of reach of children, in a container that prevents light exposure, and it should not be transferred to another container.
