View approved original text

Atorvastatin monotherapy can effectively control LDL-cholesterol levels in high-risk adult patients with coronary artery disease. However, this treatment is used for combined dyslipidemia (type IIb) where triglyceride levels are not adequately controlled. This drug helps lower bad cholesterol in the blood, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Therefore, atorvastatin is used to improve heart health by controlling LDL-cholesterol.
