View approved original text

In patients at high risk of coronary artery disease, atorvastatin monotherapy effectively controls LDL cholesterol levels. However, this treatment is used for mixed dyslipidemia (Type IIb) when triglyceride levels are not adequately controlled. This medication primarily helps lower bad cholesterol in the blood, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and improve blood lipid status. Thus, it plays an important role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and management of dyslipidemia in high-risk patients. In short, this drug is effective for the treatment of mixed dyslipidemia.
