Patients with impaired liver function, severe lung disease, excessive alcohol consumption, or dehydration also need to be cautious when using this medication. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant are advised not to use this medication, and nursing mothers should consult a physician regarding the use of this medication. When administered to elderly patients, regular monitoring of kidney function and appropriate dosage adjustments are necessary.
