Precautions

This medication should be discussed with a physician or pharmacist before use in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily. Taking it with alcohol may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may affect the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and similar conditions. Especially if there’s a history of cardiovascular disease or risk factors, it is crucial to take the lowest effective dose for the shortest period. Symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or speech disturbances should be immediately reported to healthcare professionals. This medication may cause gastrointestinal issues, increasing the risk of bleeding, ulcers, or perforations in the stomach or intestines. These symptoms can occur without any special warnings during use, thus if symptoms like epigastric pain, indigestion, black stool, or vomiting blood occur, one should visit a hospital immediately. Elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases should be particularly cautious. This medication should not be administered to individuals with certain allergic reactions, asthma, hypertension, liver impairment, kidney impairment, heart failure, pregnant women, or nursing mothers. Additionally, it is contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding or inflammatory bowel disease. Particular caution is required for patients with asthma, heart failure, hypertension, edema, dehydration, the elderly, or diabetes while using this medication, and it should be taken under a doctor’s guidance. Common side effects during use may include upper abdominal pain, indigestion, headache, elevated blood pressure, cough, and edema, while rare reports include skin rashes, liver function abnormalities, and heart issues. If such unusual symptoms occur, immediate notification to healthcare personnel is necessary. This medication is metabolized in the liver, so there may be interactions with other drugs when taken together. Consult with a doctor, particularly when using medications that inhibit liver metabolic enzymes, anticoagulants, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, lithium, or methotrexate; blood pressure and kidney function should also be regularly checked. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid taking this medication, and nursing mothers should either avoid it or stop breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established; thus, it is not to be used in this demographic. The elderly may have diminished liver and kidney functions, so careful monitoring is required during use. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function checks should be conducted during treatment; if abnormalities are identified, discontinuation and consultation with healthcare providers are necessary. In case of overdose, symptoms may include lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and upper abdominal pain, requiring immediate medical treatment.
