Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Shock symptoms such as nausea, cold extremities, and respiratory distress may rarely occur; if such symptoms appear, treatment should be discontinued immediately and appropriate care should be sought. Hypersensitivity reactions may include cardiovascular collapse, angioedema, rash, urticaria, itching, redness, and swelling around the eyes; if these symptoms appear, drug use should cease immediately. Transient burning or irritation, redness, itching, tearing, blurred vision, and dizziness may occur in the eyes; in severe cases, it may worsen to serious skin and eye diseases such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, so use should be discontinued immediately if such symptoms occur. Neurological side effects such as auditory impairment or taste disturbances have been reported rarely. Long-term use of this medication may lead to the development of resistant bacteria and may increase the risk of non-susceptible organisms such as fungi; thus, it should only be used for the minimum necessary duration. Particularly in elderly patients or when used in conjunction with corticosteroids, the risk of tendon inflammation or rupture is increased, so if pain or inflammation symptoms occur, use should be discontinued immediately. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established; nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding or stop using the medication. The safety and efficacy for children have not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is required in use. This medication is for ocular use only, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the container's opening with the eye during administration. To prevent contamination of the medication, avoid sharing it, and store it in a cool place away from direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. Additionally, to preserve quality, it is important not to transfer to another container.
