Adult dose

In antidiabetic therapy, the dosage of this medication is determined based on each patient's treatment regimen, efficacy, and tolerance, not exceeding sitagliptin 100 mg and metformin 2000 mg. This medication should be taken once daily with dinner to reduce gastrointestinal adverse effects caused by metformin, and the dose should be gradually increased. Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and metformin as treatments for diabetes, helping to regulate blood glucose levels. Sitagliptin may rarely cause serious allergic reactions; if skin rash, difficulty breathing, or facial swelling occurs within three months of taking, discontinue immediately and consult a doctor. Sitagliptin can cause acute pancreatitis; inform healthcare providers immediately if abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting occurs. Metformin has a risk of causing lactic acidosis, so it should not be used in patients with impaired renal function, liver disease, severe infections, or dehydration. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, acute heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, or sepsis should not take this medication. This medication is not recommended for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, breastfeeding mothers, or children under 18 years of age. While taking this medication, maintain regular meals and exercise, as symptoms of hypoglycemia such as dizziness, cold sweat, and tremors may occur. Particularly, when taken with other blood glucose-lowering agents or insulin, the risk of hypoglycemia may increase; therefore, dose adjustments should be made under a physician's guidance. Before and after administration of iodinated contrast media, this medication should be temporarily discontinued to avoid kidney stress and resumed only after confirming normal kidney function. Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of lactic acidosis, so patients should avoid excessive drinking while taking this medication. Moreover, it is important to regularly monitor kidney function and blood tests during this medication's use for any abnormalities. If a patient is facing surgery, or experiences severe infection or dehydration, this medication should be temporarily discontinued and resumed once the patient's condition stabilizes. Some patients may experience side effects such as diarrhea, headache, upper respiratory infection, abdominal pain; consult healthcare providers if symptoms are severe or persistent. Finally, this medication may not be fully absorbed, resulting in excretion in feces; if the medication is found in stool, inform a physician and check the status of blood glucose control.
