This drug is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus and helps control blood sugar levels in patients who are also on diet and exercise therapy. Sitagliptin and metformin work together to effectively lower blood sugar. Therefore, it is used as a suitable treatment for patients with type 2 diabetes who require blood sugar management.

How to take

Adult dose

Take this 100/1000 mg extended release tablet once daily, 1 tablet at a time. Patients taking the 50/500 mg extended release tablet or the 50/1000 mg extended release tablet should take 2 tablets at once once daily. 1. Precautions

This drug contains sitagliptin and metformin and is used for diabetes treatment. Sitagliptin can rarely cause serious allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as rash or difficulty breathing occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Additionally, acute pancreatitis may occur, so if there is abdominal pain, vomiting, or severe abdominal pain, seek medical attention immediately. Metformin can cause rare but serious side effects such as lactic acidosis, so if symptoms such as shortness of breath, muscle pain, fatigue, or abdominal pain occur, notify medical personnel immediately. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, dehydrated individuals, those with severe infections, congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, or conditions that may affect renal function should not take this medication. Additionally, it should not be administered to pregnant women or breastfeeding women. During the use of this medication, it is important to undergo regular renal function tests and check vitamin B12 levels. Alcohol should be avoided, and in case of sudden surgery or radiologic examinations using contrast agents, medication should be temporarily discontinued. There is a risk of hypoglycemia, so if taken together with other diabetic medications such as insulin or sulfonylureas, blood sugar should be checked frequently and attention should be paid to symptoms of hypoglycemia. Be cautious of unusual symptoms like hypoglycemia or drowsiness while performing tasks requiring attention, such as driving or operating machinery. If blisters appear on the skin or if severe joint pain occurs during medication use, notify a physician immediately. This medication has not been established for safety and efficacy in patients under 18 years of age, and should not be used.
