The vitamin D contained in this medication helps promote the healthy development of bones and teeth and is effective in preventing bone diseases such as rickets. Therefore, this medication is used to maintain skeletal health and improve bone problems in growth and old age.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children aged 8 years and older should take 1 tablet once daily.

Child dose

Children aged 8 years and older should take 1 tablet once daily.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia or sarcoidosis, which is an unknown cause inflammatory disease. Those with allergic reactions to the ingredients of this medication, children under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and patients with severe renal failure should also avoid this medication. While taking this medication, it is advisable not to take drugs such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids at the same time. Children under 1 year of age, patients currently under medical treatment, children exposed to lots of sunlight and having normal meals, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, lactating women, as well as premature infants and infants should always consult with a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. Individuals with heart or circulatory problems, patients with impaired kidney function, patients with low protein levels in the blood, those taking cardiac glycosides, and individuals with a history of kidney stones should also consult a specialist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, skin rashes, and other unusual symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Moreover, overdose may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, increased sodium concentration in the blood, heart failure, edema, and prolonged use may increase the risk of hypercalcemia or stone formation, so caution is needed. In particular, taking this medication along with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene may increase the risk of elevated potassium levels in the blood, so caution is advised. The dosage should be followed carefully, and children should be administered under the supervision of a guardian while avoiding beverages containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after usage. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children in a tight container, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place, and should not be transferred to other containers to maintain quality.
