Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used to assist in controlling blood sugar for patients with type 2 diabetes who need to take teneligliptin and metformin together. It helps manage blood sugar levels effectively when combined with dietary regulation and exercise therapy, stabilizing blood sugar fluctuations and providing positive effects on diabetes management.
This medication is generally administered once daily with the evening meal. The 20/1000 mg sustained-release tablet is taken once daily, one tablet at a time. For the 10/750 mg or 10/500 mg sustained-release tablets, take two tablets simultaneously once daily. Patients who cannot achieve sufficient blood sugar control with metformin alone should receive teneligliptin 20 mg once daily along with their current metformin dosage. Maximum daily.
This medication helps to control blood sugar levels. However, there are several important precautions that must be observed while taking it. First, this medication can rarely cause a serious condition known as lactic acidosis. Lactic acidosis can become dangerous if excess lactic acid builds up in the body, so if sudden muscle pain, weakness, difficulty breathing, or abdominal pain occurs, consult a doctor immediately. Second, patients with impaired kidney function, severe heart disease, liver dysfunction, or those in poor health due to severe infection or trauma should not use this medication. Third, you should stop taking this medication at least 48 hours before undergoing tests involving radiographic contrast agents, and resume taking it only after confirming normal kidney function following the tests. Fourth, this medication can increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with other diabetes medications, so it is important to be aware of hypoglycemic symptoms and how to manage them. Fifth, this medication is not recommended for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and caution is needed if breastfeeding. Sixth, it is important to regularly check kidney function and vitamin B12 levels through blood tests while taking this medication, as vitamin B12 may become deficient. Seventh, this medication may cause side effects such as constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, dizziness, etc., in some patients. If any unusual symptoms persist, consult a doctor. Finally, excessive alcohol should be avoided while taking this medication, and any use in combination with other medicines should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist.
